This handsome gentleman is Gil, a 9.5 year old dignified sir of a GSP who would prefer we not mention his age. He'll tell you he's 5.
He currently lives with two human girls, two canine ladies, and one fuzzy cat. His best buddies in his foster home are his 1yr old foster pup-sister, the two short humans, and his tennis balls.
He loves tennis balls. A lot. He carries them around. He chases and retrieves them. He asks you to please throw the ball any chance he thinks you might oblige. He even brings them to bed sometimes.
If he drops the ball too far from you just tell him "too far Gil" and he'll redo. If he misplaces one, tell him to "go find it Gil" and he will.
He also loves to gently carry around his stuffed animal friends.

Gil very much loves to be outside but also really appreciates a cozy place to snuggle inside. Like many GSPs he'll be Velcro with the humans he likes, and he seems to like most humans. He'll be a lap dog if you let him.

Gil has year-round skin allergies that are very effectively and easily controlled with special food, a once-monthly shot, and frequent baths with medicated shampoo. He's a fan of his food, handles his medicine well, and hates those baths. He stands nicely for them, but he grumbles about it! With this care Gil is a thriving, happy, beautiful companion.
In years past Gil has also had some seizures, though none in the last 2+ years. He currently also takes medication for seizure prevention, and is in the process of having his dosage lowered in a trial to see if he really needs it any longer.
The only bad habit he's displayed in his foster home is counter-surfing.
This kind, funny, gentle yet energetic soul would love to have a caring, comfortable family to live into old age with, and someone to chase a million tennis balls with.  Gil is located in central Iowa.
