Hi! My name is Chica and I am a cute, cuddly pointer mix. I came into the GPPR rescue with 3 newborn pups but they have all gone to good homes. I have been spayed to prevent future puppy encounters. 

I am looking for my furever home which can be anywhere in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota or Nebraska. I currently live with 2 humans and 3 German Shorthair Pointers (2 males and 1 female). My foster sister, Willie, is my new bestie and I love to run, play and wrestle with her. I get along well with all 3 of the GSPs. I have been tested with cats and the longer I am with them the more fixated I become. I would do better in a home without cats.

I love to go on walks to sniff to my heart’s content and stop to point robins. I do well on a leash with a pinch collar to remind me not to pull. I know the commands of sit, kennel and down, my foster Mom has been working with me on those and will add others soon. I am motivated by small treats to work hard. I am working on my kennel manners to be more comfortable when my foster family is out and for sleeping at night.

I love my current people and one of my favorite things is to snuggle up to them on the couch so they will pet me and rub my belly. There are no little people in this foster home, but my foster mom thinks I would do well with children above the age of 6 because I can be quite rambunctious and don’t know my own strength at times.
