Hello future family,
My name is Eli, and I’m a four-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer. I’m a true velcro dog and I love to be outside and love being with my human snuggling on the couch. I am pretty "chatty" when I’m outside, did I mention, I LOVE BEING OUTSIDE, running and running and running (and playing with a ball too!). I do pull on the leash because I am so excited to be outside exploring with you, but I want to be your best boy so I’m eager to learn to be right by your side on walks (or runs). I do know some basic commands (sit, back, stay) but will need additional training as sometimes I like to ignore my foster family when they say it's time to come back into the house. If you don't have a big yard, please be sure to take me to the dog park a few times a week to get my running in!
I love people and am great around kids. I love to cuddle with my foster family on the couch while they watch TV. I’m friendly with other dogs and to be honest if my ball is out, I won’t even notice that other dogs are around. I will say that it’d be best to have my toys and food separate from another pup in the house just to avoid any confusion for the first few weeks! Or just slowly introduce new toys into the lineup.
Lastly, I am house trained and have my favorite puppy bed that I enjoy laying in while my foster mom works. I will want to sleep with you (under the covers if its chilly) at night. I don’t bark much indoors but may from time to time if I’m feeling a bit antsy to get outside for a run. And if you leave for a while, I will be at the door for a couple of minutes but will retire to my bed because sleeping is more interesting than whatever you’re out doing.
Overall, I’m a great and loving pup with lots of energy to be used up but that can come physically or mentally, which is even better. I can’t wait to show you how much I’m willing to learn and be your best friend.
