Great Plains Pointer Rescue

Ace is a sweet and playful pup who is settling in beautifully with his foster family. His nighttime potty routine is improving—he usually only needs to go out once, and sometimes it’s just because his humans are up too.

When Ace first met the resident dogs, he was very excited and vocal, showing a bit of dominance at first. With some easy redirection he adapted quickly, and now he and the youngest resident dog spend hours outside playing together. He has also enjoyed attending doggy daycare in the past, so he would do well in a home with a canine playmate or regular opportunities for social play.

Ace is still working on reaching a healthy weight. For now, he’s allowed to free-feed while his foster family is home. He does well pacing himself, eating only what he needs and snacking throughout the day. Once he’s at a healthy weight he’ll transition back to a regular feeding schedule.

What Ace loves most is being close to people. He’s a total snugglebug who enjoys chilling with his humans, sitting outside to watch squirrels, chewing on bones, and playing with toys.
