This guy. You'd be hard pressed to find a more easy going dog. He's not your typical high energy pointer. Wayne has a chill side to him. Truthfully, I'd adopt him myself if I (foster mom) didn't already have a full complement of pointers.
A few caveats before I gush endlessly about him. Wayne does not do cats, squirrels, rabbits etc. He showed me how to get out of a wire crate should I ever need to. A few zip ties and carabiner's and he is safely contained when he needs to be. He fusses some when you crate him so you can go out, or are outside, but he does settle.
Now onto the good stuff. Wayne knows sit, and I do mean sit. His recall is good. He can shake, lay down, fetch and drop the ball to your feet. He loves to play ball, or chase the Kong. Failing ready toys any stick will do. All the sticks will do. Must have sticks. But being a gentleman he will drop them outside the door before coming in. If I can't figure out where he is, all I have to do is turn around. He's right there. You will never go to the bathroom alone. If you are shy about Wayne peeking behind the shower curtain while you shower he may not be for you. He will be a constant kitchen companion. He does love his people. He will be a great cuddle buddy and is good with kids. He wants to share the sofa, but his Foster Mom is mean and saves it for the resident dogs. Ever understanding he takes sofa rejection gracefully. Thunder doesn't seem to phase him. His leash skills could use a little polish but not much.
He was originally adopted from a shelter as a stray but that didn't work out (because he is not a fan of cats.) He came with all his earthly belongings. Crate, feeding station, toys, treats. He's a big fan of treats. Leash, harness, winter coat, more treats, food toppings and tidbits. Wayne is sleek, shiny and comes fully loaded. Plus, he loves having his picture taken. He will melt your heart with his head tilt.
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate and well-trained dog who's happiest at your side (or playing fetch) Wayne might be your guy.
