Bella recently discovered birds are fun to watch and chase. She can be quite focused on them when the sparrows are making noise in the trees but can easily be redirected if I’m close by. She’s always on the move, sniffing and checking things out unless she’s in her crate or cuddling. She does very well in her crate and goes right to it when we first enter the house and when asked. She loves her kong wobbler and gets part of her meal in it every morning when I leave for work. She continues to enjoy playing fetch, pouncing on squeaky balls and running with them in her mouth. She’s learned to sit beside me instead of always directly in front of me and we’re still working on leash walking but she’s coming along. She also knows leave it and has good recall. We took a break from formal training while she was adjusting to the medication for urinary incontinence but she’s doing well on it and we’re getting more training in again. She’s still a bit shy with new people but it seems to be taking less time for her to relax around them. She does well with the other dogs in my household and even did well with a very playfully pushy visiting bull terrier. When she got tired of his pushiness, she just out ran him until he was worn out and left her alone. She will do some wrestle play with other dogs but most enjoys ‘you chase me and I’ll chase you’ with dogs who have a similar play style. She’s really come a long way from the shy timid girl she was 2 months ago and is very pleasant to be around.
